Insurance & Damage Policy
CARVEOO | Version 1.0
Effective date: 2026-10-22
Approval: Approved by the Carveoo owner.
1. Who supplies the insurance?
Carveoo connects Guests with professional vehicle rental companies in Curaçao. The Host is responsible for keeping the listed vehicle legally registered, roadworthy and insured for the rental activity. Carveoo does not itself provide or guarantee insurance coverage unless a separate arrangement is expressly approved and disclosed.
2. Insurance details shown before booking
The Host must accurately describe the insurance or protection arrangements offered for the vehicle, including the coverage type, relevant exclusions, applicable excess/deductible and any optional protection price. A Guest should review the specific vehicle’s insurance terms before completing a booking.
No universal deductible, insurance limit or damage waiver is promised by this policy. The applicable figures must come from the selected vehicle and its disclosed rental and insurance conditions.
3. Vehicle condition at pickup
The Host should provide a clean, safe and roadworthy vehicle and verify the Guest’s licence and identity as required. The Host must document vehicle condition with dated photographs before handover. The Guest should inspect the vehicle and promptly record or report damage, warning lights or other problems before confirming receipt.
For Carveoo’s supported digital workflow, the rental starts only after both the Host and Guest confirm handover/receipt.
4. During the rental
Guests must operate the vehicle responsibly and comply with local traffic law and the Host’s disclosed rules. Unauthorized drivers, racing, reckless use, prohibited off-road driving or unlawful conduct may affect liability and coverage under the Host’s actual policy.
If an accident, theft, breakdown, damage or safety incident occurs, the Guest should follow applicable legal requirements, contact the Host immediately and notify Carveoo through the reservation-support process. Keep photographs and other relevant evidence.
5. Roadside assistance
The supplied Host Policies require Hosts to provide or arrange 24/7 roadside assistance during active rentals. Guests should use the Host’s provided emergency contact and notify Carveoo if the Host cannot be reached or the problem remains unresolved.
6. Returning the vehicle
The Host should record the vehicle’s actual physical return and condition. Scheduled return dates and completed payments are not proof of the vehicle’s physical return or condition. Any damage or missing-item allegation should be supported by appropriate inspection evidence.
7. Damage claims and responsibility
Responsibility for damage depends on the rental agreement, the circumstances, available evidence, the Host’s applicable insurance and mandatory law. Guests may be responsible for damage, misuse or losses not covered by the applicable policy, but charges must not be arbitrary or based solely on an unsupported allegation.
Carveoo may review documents, photographs, timestamps and communications in a reservation-linked dispute. A claim being reported does not mean the Guest automatically accepts liability.
8. Security deposits and deductibles
A security deposit is not the same thing as an insurance deductible/excess. The listing and booking must disclose whether a deposit is required, how it is collected, who holds it and the stated conditions for return or a justified deduction. Deductibles and optional protection amounts must reflect the Host’s actual insurance and rental terms. No deposit deduction, coverage amount or insurance benefit is created by a platform label or simulated payment.
9. Unsafe or damaged vehicles
A vehicle identified as unsafe or damaged may be temporarily restricted from new bookings while an authorized review is pending. Recording a vehicle return does not automatically clear an independent safety restriction. Only the authorized process may restore its bookable status.
10. Questions and disputes
For an insurance or damage question, use the existing Carveoo Help Center or booking-linked support route and include the reservation reference. The Host remains the source of the actual insurer’s coverage documentation.
