CARVEOO
Operational standards, payout procedures, and regulatory requirements for Hosts on the Carveoo Platform
1. Vehicle Standards
All vehicles listed on the Carveoo Platform must meet the following minimum standards at all times:
- Be fully roadworthy and legally registered in accordance with the laws and regulations of Curaçao;
- Display no active warning lights or unresolved mechanical faults;
- Be clean, well-maintained, and mechanically sound;
- Satisfy all applicable local inspection and roadworthiness requirements (APK or equivalent).
Carveoo reserves the right to conduct audits or request documentation evidencing compliance with these standards.
2. Insurance Requirements
Hosts are solely responsible for ensuring that all listed vehicles carry adequate insurance coverage at all times. At a minimum, Hosts must maintain:
- Mandatory third-party liability insurance (Wettelijke Aansprakelijkheid / WA) as required under Curaçao law;
- Any additional coverage required by applicable law or regulation;
- Any supplementary coverage offered to Guests as described in the vehicle listing.
Carveoo does not provide, arrange, or guarantee any insurance coverage unless explicitly stated otherwise. Hosts must ensure that their insurance policies extend to rental use by third-party Guests.
3. Vehicle Handover
At the time of vehicle handover, the Host must:
- Verify the Guest's identity and the validity of their driver's licence;
- Confirm the Booking reference on the Carveoo Platform;
- Document the vehicle's condition with dated photographs prior to handover;
- Clearly explain fuel policy, mileage restrictions (if applicable), and return conditions.
Documentation of vehicle condition at handover is essential for the resolution of any subsequent damage disputes.
4. Fuel, Mileage & Permitted Use
Hosts must clearly disclose the following in their vehicle listing:
- Fuel policy (Carveoo recommends a full-to-full policy for transparency);
- Any applicable mileage limits and associated excess charges;
- Any restrictions on use, including but not limited to off-road driving, inter-island travel, or racing.
5. Late Returns & Additional Charges
Hosts may apply additional charges for:
- Late return of the Vehicle beyond the agreed Rental Period;
- Cleaning fees where the Vehicle is returned in an unreasonably poor condition;
- Documented damage costs incurred during the Rental Period.
All additional charges must be reasonable, proportionate, and supported by photographic or written evidence. Charges must be communicated to the Guest via the Platform promptly.
6. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Hosts must select one of the following cancellation policies for each vehicle listing and disclose the applicable option before the Guest books. The source options below are retained; no additional refund percentage or cancellation penalty amount is created by this page:
Flexible
- Guest cancels 48 hours or more in advance: full refund to Guest.
- Host cancellation: financial penalty and potential account review apply.
Moderate (Default)
- Guest cancels 7 days or more in advance: full refund to Guest.
- Guest cancels less than 7 days in advance: partial refund to Guest.
Strict
- Guest cancels less than 14 days in advance: no refund to Guest.
6.1 Host Cancellations
If a Host cancels a confirmed Booking, the Guest shall receive a full refund. The Host may be subject to:
- A financial penalty under the disclosed Host rules and authorized review; no penalty amount or automatic deduction is created by the current installation;
- Account downgrade or reduced visibility on the Platform;
- Temporary suspension, particularly in cases of repeated cancellations.
7. Payout & Payment Policy
7.1 Dual Confirmation Requirement
To ensure secure and accurate payouts, both the Host and the Guest must confirm the initiation of the rental via the Carveoo Platform. The rental is considered officially initiated only when:
- The Host confirms via the Carveoo app or Host dashboard that the Vehicle has been handed over to the Guest; and
- The Guest confirms via the Carveoo app that the Vehicle has been received in acceptable condition.
7.2 Effect on Payout Status
Until both confirmations are received:
- The Booking payout remains in 'hold' status;
- Once both confirmations are recorded, the Booking may become eligible for payout review, subject to payment verification and any independent dispute, safety or other hold. An internal status is not proof of a transfer.
7.3 Payout Timing
No automatic Host payout transfer or 24–48-hour transfer deadline is activated. Dual confirmation records rental initiation; it does not schedule or execute a transfer. Actual payout timing depends on the separately approved and available payment and payout integration and any applicable review holds.
Carveoo reserves the right to delay payouts where:
- Confirmation by one or both parties is incomplete or absent;
- A dispute has been raised by either party;
- Fraud or misrepresentation is suspected;
- Additional verification or documentation is required.
7.4 Failure to Confirm
If either party fails to confirm rental initiation within a reasonable timeframe, Carveoo may:
- Request supporting evidence such as handover photographs, messages, or timestamps;
- Review supporting evidence about rental commencement without automatically replacing either party’s required confirmation or clearing independent holds;
- Delay or adjust the payout accordingly.
Failure to cooperate with Carveoo's verification process may result in temporary withholding of payouts and/or account review or suspension.
7.5 Payment Methods
Host banking information is collected for review and payout preparation. No payout channel is activated in the current installation. The following source channels are possible future arrangements only, subject to separate approval and provider activation:
- Bank transfer to a verified local or international bank account;
- Local Caribbean banking institutions;
- Approved third-party payment processors.
7.6 Withholding & Adjustments
Carveoo may withhold or adjust payouts in cases involving:
- Outstanding damage claims or guest disputes;
- Chargeback proceedings;
- Active fraud investigations;
- Legal or regulatory obligations.
7.7 Currency & Foreign Exchange
USD remains the authoritative checkout and order currency. EUR is a display preference at the configured conversion reference; it does not select a Host settlement currency or execute foreign exchange. Future payout currency and any FX charges require a separately approved settlement arrangement.
8. Roadside Assistance & 24/7 Host Support
8.1 Mandatory Coverage
All Hosts are required to ensure that 24/7 roadside assistance and emergency support is available for each vehicle listed on the Platform, for the entire duration of any active Booking. This obligation may be fulfilled by:
- Enrolling all listed vehicles in a professional 24/7 roadside assistance programme (e.g. Roadwatch 24/7 or an equivalent service); or
- Providing a dedicated 24/7 reachable Host support service capable of responding immediately to breakdowns, emergencies, or vehicle-related incidents.
8.2 Host Responsibility
The Host remains fully responsible at all times for:
- Vehicle recovery and mechanical breakdown assistance;
- Emergency support coordination;
- Arranging a replacement vehicle or alternative resolution where warranted.
This obligation applies irrespective of whether assistance is provided directly by the Host or through a contracted third-party service provider.
8.3 Carveoo Intervention
In the event of a Guest emergency where the Host cannot be reached or fails to provide adequate support within a reasonable timeframe, Carveoo reserves the right to intervene to protect the safety and mobility of the Guest. Carveoo may arrange emergency roadside assistance on behalf of the Guest.
8.4 Cost Allocation
All costs incurred by Carveoo for emergency assistance provided as a result of a Host's failure to meet this obligation shall be:
- Fully charged to the Host; and
- Recorded for authorized recovery from an approved future settlement arrangement, or invoiced directly to the Host. No automatic deduction or transfer is performed by the current installation.
Carveoo may maintain a payout-review hold until these costs have been reviewed and settled. Such a hold is an internal record; it is not an escrow service or an actual transfer.
8.5 Non-Compliance
Failure to comply with the roadside assistance requirements set out in this section may result in:
- Temporary suspension of all active listings;
- Mandatory account review;
- Permanent removal from the Platform in cases of repeated or serious non-compliance.
